On se retrouve aujourd’hui autour d’une petite pause café chez Jat’ pour vous parler du nouveau HP Spectre 13*. Pour celles et ceux qui ne connaissent pas Jat’ Café, c’est un très chouette endroit situé à Bruxelles, Rue de Namur, où on déguste des cafés et autres boissons chaudes délicieuses, des cupcakes, des bagels et des jus de fruits frais. J’adore cet endroit et j’y ai passé énormément de temps lorsque je travaillais encore en tant qu’avocate dans le quartier. J’y passe maintenant de temps à autre pour profiter d’un bon cappuccino dans une déco hyper chaleureuse, en espérant être lucky enough pour arriver à choper un fauteuil pour m’installer. Ces derniers sont très prisés!
J’y avais rendez-vous cette fois-ci avec Pauline pour une séance photo. Pauline est une passionnée de photographie avec qui j’aime beaucoup collaborer. J’ai profité de l’occasion pour prendre quelques jolies avec l’HP Spectre 13 que j’ai la chance de pouvoir tester pendant 3 mois. Ca fait maintenant 3-4 semaines que je l’utilise à la maison, de quoi déjà pouvoir vous donner mon avis sur ce véritable bijou de technologie.
Avant de commencer, il faut que je vous avoue un truc. Je suis une blogueuse qui préfère le système d’exploitation Windows, plutôt que celui d’Apple. Oui, ça existe. Un espère rare mais néanmoins coriace. Le seul souci c’est que j’aime allier l’esthétique et l’utile et que du coup je jongle avec les deux à la maison. Sur ma table de travail, vous trouverez un ordinateur fixe de type PC, avec Windows car pour travailler je trouve cela beaucoup plus efficace. Sur ma table de salon et dans ma valise lors de voyages, vous trouverez mon MacBook Air. La seule raison pour laquelle je l’ai acheté? Son esthétisme et son côté ultra-pratique pour se déplacer puisqu’il est tout fin. Le bémol? Je n’ai absolument aucun espace sur ce laptop pour travailler. Autant vous dire que quand j’ai commencé à tester le HP Spectre 13, j’étais aux anges puisqu’à mon sens il combine les trois avantages que je recherche dans un ordinateur: puissance, élégance et légèreté. J’ai assez d’espace pour y installer tous mes programmes, que ce soit Lightroom, Photoshop ou Microsoft Office. Son design est magnifique et j’ai un véritable coup de coeur pour les touches de rose gold de-ci de-là. Et il est ultra léger donc idéal pour le poser sur ses genoux dans son fauteuil, en mode chill, et idéal pour le transporter partout avec soi. Encore mieux, j’ai installé Sims 4 dessus et la carte graphique et la mémoire virtuelle sont suffisantes pour jouer. Je ne suis pas vraiment un geek sensu stricto mais j’adore ce jeu vidéo. Je peux y passer des heures, et je fais parfois des journées de sevrage car sinon j’y passerais ma vie. Impossible d’avoir ce programme sur mon Mac et l’ordi fixe à la maison a une carte graphique qui n’est pas dingue donc le jeu se fige tout le temps et je perds à chaque fois ma partie. Bref, pour moi c’est le laptop de mes rêves. Le seul bémol bien sûr c’est son prix puisque c’est un investissement à faire mais en terme de rapport qualité-prix, je le trouve totalement justifié. En terme de comparaison, ce n’est pas plus cher qu’un MacBook Pro. Pour les assidus des PC et Windows, c’est un prix qui s’écarte du prix moyen d’un laptop mais pour moi on ne joue pas dans la même catégorie.
On est tellement convaincue avec Mr. MBF qu’on pense d’ailleurs en acheter un pour nous une fois la période de trois mois terminée. Je reviendrai avec un second article à la fin des trois mois pour vous dire si on a craqué ou pas 😉

Fancy a coffee break with my at Jat’ to talk about the new HP Spectre 13*? For those of you who may not know Jat’ Café, it’s a very cool spot in Brussels, located in Rue de Namur where you can grab a bite, indulge in some delicious coffees and cupcakes, bagels and freshly squeezed smoothies. I love this place and used to hang out a lot there when I was still working as a lawyer in the neighbourhood. Now, I’m visiting them now and them to enjoy some good cappuccinos in a very warm and comfy atmosphere, hoping to be lucky enough to grap a seat in one of their comfortable couches. They’re very demanded!
This time I was meeting Pauline for a photo shooting session. Pauline est passionate about photography and I love to work with her. I took this chance to take a few nice pics with the HP Spectre 13 that I have been given to test for 3 months. It has now been 3 to 4 weejs that I use it at home, giving me already a good opinion on this little wonder of technology.
Before we start, I have to tell you something. I’m a blogger that prefers using Windows system than the one from Apple. Yep, it doesn’t exist. A very rare species but a tenacious one. The only issue as far as I’m concerned is that I love to combine aesthetics with technology so I end up using both systems at home. On my working desk, you will find a PC computer, using Windows since for work I find it’s the best combo for me. On my living room table and in my luggage when travelling, you will find my MacBook Air. The only reason I got this one? Its aesthetics and the fact that it’s super duper handy to go from one place to another as it’s so light and thin. The downside? I have no space whatsoever on this laptop to work properly. Needless to say that when I started to use to the HP Spectre 13, I felt like in heaven since it combines in my opinion the three advantages I’m looking for when using a computer: power, elegance & lightness. I have way enough space to use all my programmes, such as Lightroom, Photoshop or Microsoft Office. Its design is incredibly beautiful and I have a huge crush for the gold rose touch here and there. And it’s ultra light so ideal to have on my laps when chilling on the couch or when travelling. Even better, I installed Sims 4 and the graphic card and virtual memory are sufficient to play with this game. I’m not a real geek but I love this video game. I can spend hours at it, and some times I have to force myself to stop playing otherwise I’d spent my life on this game – hello addict. No way I can play Sims 4 on my Mac as there’s simply no space to download it and the same goes for my desk computer, the graphic card being too limited to play the game without having down-time or hiccups. So in the end, HP Spectre 13 is the laptop of my dream. The only downside of course is its price since it’s an investment. Do not get me wrong in this topic btw. I find the price totally justified but it’s an investment to make. In term of comparison though, it’s not more expensive than a Mac. It’s more of a difference for PC users as the price spread is bigger compared to other PCs available on the market but again, this laptop doesn’t play in the same category.
We are actually so convinced by this laptop with Mr. MBF that we are thinking about get one for the both of us once the 3-month period is over. I’ll come back with a second post at the end of this period to tell you if you ended buying it or not 😉
